Like most woodworkers I know, I’m always looking for a way to save a dime and some time. One of the ways to do that is to find free plans. Sometimes I will build the plans exactly as written, but sometimes I just use them as a starting place and add my own flair. Either way, a lot (if not all) of the leg-work has been done already.
If you are like me in this regard, then you need to run over to Minwax’s Woodworking Projects site. They have a few pretty good plans over there and you can even sort by experience level. The best part is…they’re all free plans. No strings attached. You don’t even have to enter your email address. I like that.
I’ve included the description to their charging station below and a direct link to the PDF. It’s not exactly my style, but I could certainly make a couple of minor adjustments to make this fit right in on my kitchen counter.
What’s your favorite site to get free woodworking plans?
Your cell phone needs it, so does your wireless earpiece, your MP3 player, your mega mega-pixel camera and whatever other digital devices you may have: regular recharging. So that’s a lot of chargers to keep track of or potentially misplace. Instead of them rattling around in your backpack, how about keeping them all in one place? To prevent loss and confusion, this charging station offers a smart and good-looking way to do that. With slots for four devices, plus a drawer and a tray for necessities like spare batteries and ear buds, this piece can stay put in your room.
This project offers slots for four devices, plus a drawer and tray for spare batteries, ear buds and cords. Intermediate woodworkers will get plenty of practice in the efficient use of lumber, resawing wood to nonstandard thicknesses, precision layout, neat gluing and nailing.
