Making an end grain cutting board is nearly a rite of passage for a woodworker. We’ve all seen them. We all know that it’s not too hard to make one. And eventually we all have a bunch of scraps lying around. Therefore, we (almost) all end up giving it a shot.
Some of us are successful.
Some of us are not.
And then some, like Andrei of mtm wood, become masters at it. He has taken the proverbial bull by the horns and run with it. I can’t say for sure, but looking at his website, his YouTube channel and just his shop setup, I think Andrei may be making a living by making cutting boards.
In his latest video he details how you, too, can make a 3-D cutting board. If you are interested in pursuing end grain cutting boards even more, Andrei has created a tutorial called THE BASICS OF MAKING END GRAIN CUTTING BOARDS. The tutorial is free, but you have to subscribe to his mailing list in order to get it.
The free plans for this cutting board can be found here, but you will be required to subscribe to mtm wood’s newsletter to get them.
